Wayne M. Witczak
Wayne M. Witczak was born in Long Island, New York, and has made Tampa Bay his home since 1980. Graduating from the University of Tampa, Wayne has dedicated his life to serving children’s causes.
Wayne currently serves the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches as their Director of Development covering the state of Florida. Responsible for most aspects of donor development, Wayne responsibilities include the supervisory responsibilities for the agencies Development Officers.
Prior to joining the Florida Sheriff Youth Ranches, Wayne started and maintains a Florida corporation which provided consulting services to small nonprofit organizations. Wayne uses has vast knowledge of friend/fund-raising, as well as operational experiences to implement proven practical, usable and actionable strategies toward achieving organizational success.
Prior to the establishment of W.M. Witczak & Group, LLC, Wayne served as the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of Kids Charity of Tampa Bay. KCTB mission is to improve the lives of abused, abandoned and neglected children. KCTB owns and oversees the operations of A Kid’s Place, a 60-bed temporary residential care housing facility, which serves a child population whose average age is five years old. In addition to Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer responsibilities, Wayne served as the Chief Fundraising Officer where he experienced immeasurable success with the charity receiving Charity Navigators distinction of being a “Top Ten Charities Moving in a Hurry”. The biggest and most impactful accomplishments included a $1M Matching Gift Campaign resulting in $1.038M raised in 24 weeks, two major gifts both at $400K and two years of consecutive donor growth of just over 30%. Wayne left Kids Charity of Tampa Bay after successfully completing his employment engagement leaving the organization in a perfect position for future growth.
Prior to serving Kids Charity of Tampa Bay, Inc., Wayne spent eighteen years at the International Headquarters of the world know children’s charity, Shriners Hospitals for Children. For sixteen years he served as their Associate Executive Administrator responsible for overseeing the business affairs of their twenty-two facilities located throughout North America and the Shriners International Headquarters facility located in Tampa, Florida. In his capacity as the Associate Executive Administrator, Wayne has staffed most key Board committees including but not limited to Affiliations, Budget, Buildings and Equipment, Information Systems, and Planning. As the Shriners are a volunteer organization and run by a Board, Wayne has been exposed to a diverse group of leaders with the common noble cause of helping children.
The most rewarding aspect of Wayne’s career with Shriners Hospitals for Children was knowing he had the ability to positively affect the lives of children by providing them with the free expert medical care they needed and deserved. Wayne has completed many internal leadership training courses and is held in high regard among colleagues and staff throughout the Shriners International and Shriners Hospitals for Children. Wayne’s last two years with Shriners Hospitals for Children were dedicated to fundraising and developing the corporate partner philosophy that was designed to help grow the support necessary to preserve the mission of helping children free of charge. Today, Wayne is still actively involved in setting the strategic course of Shriners International and Shriners Hospitals for Children by serving on the Strategic Planning committee and as their Executive Advisory Committee for Donor Relations both appointments made by their Joint Boards.
Prior to his career with Shriners Hospitals for Children, Wayne held positions with Manatee Hospitals & Health System and Brandon Regional Hospital. Both organizations provide Wayne with a clear understanding of the healthcare industry as it related to profit and nonprofit corporate structure and positioned him perfectly for a career serving nonprofit organizations.
Outside the office, Wayne continues to be an active member of the Tampa Bay community serving professional and service organizations with significant time being involved at the local Shriners participating in the World Champion Pharaohs motorcycle drill team, as well as being a dedicated husband of 30 years and father of three children. Wayne continues to be an active contributing member of the community and has vowed to use his professional and personal relationship to further the mission of Children’s Charities providing a path to sustainability and meeting the unmet needs of children.
